Desuperheating

The steam condition is critical to ensure steam is near saturation. If it is too hot, it will cause equipment damage and if it is too cold it will leave water in the pipework and valves which can lead to cracking and failure in power plants.

Product – DA4S the BTG Steam Desuperheater

The BTG Steam Desuperheater DA4S is a combination of an injection nozzle and a control valve. It is inserted in a steam line of minimum diameter DN 150 mm/6″. The nozzle is inserted in the steam pipe through a flanged pipe stud that is welded to the steam pipe.

Product – DAM Steam Desuperheater

Desuperheating is used to improve the thermal efficiency of heat transfer processes by lowering the temperature of the steam to close to saturation temperature. The DAM steam desuperheater is used in applications where large spray water flow is required when desuperheating the steam, and where the demand for saturated steam is high. The DAM is a high performing ring style desuperheater with a welded flow profiling liner for superior evaporation and performance. It complies with all existing standards and is always pressure tested on both the steam side as well as the water side.

Product – DAM-B Steam Attemperator

Attemperation is the primary technique used for controlling the degree of superheat in a boiler or a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). This is achieved through a controlled injection of water into the superheated steam. The DAM-B is a high performing ring style attemperator with a welded flow profiling liner for superior evaporation and performance. It complies with all existing standards and is always pressure tested on both the steam side as well as the water side.

Product – DAM-D Steam Desuperheater

The desuperheater DAM-D is typically used in combination with a steam pressure reducing valve to create a steam conditioning valve. The VLR steam conditioning valve uses the DAM-D as its desuperheating component. The DAM-D can be welded to the outlet or installed close downstream from the steam pressure reducing valve. Apart from providing desuperheating functionality to the upstream pressure reducing valve, the DAM-D also straightens the often very non-uniform flow patterns that are created by the pressure reducing valve. The DAM-D also reduces noise and creates a backpressure that reduces or eliminates high velocity in the valve’s outlet.

Product – DA-O Steam Desuperheater

The steam desuperheater DA-O provides reliable steam temperature control. The connection to the steam pipe as well as the spray water pipe is both flanged to facilitate service access. The DA-O is used for desuperheating of steam in small and medium-sized pipes and is especially useful when the cooling water temperature is close to saturation.
